A visual timer my kids can read.
My kids are 8 and 5. One morning at breakfast, I started Tempo and told them that when the timer was done, breakfast was over.
When it ran out, they got up easily and went on to what I’d asked them to do next.
Time they can watch.
Tempo shows time as a picture. A snowman melts, or a pile of sand blows away, and when it’s gone, time’s up.
Trying it at your table.
Set a timer for however long breakfast should take, pick a picture, and put the phone where everyone can see it. Then tell them that when the timer’s done, breakfast is over.
What it costs.
Tempo is free to download and comes with the Dots visualization. Snowman, Sand and the other pictures come with Pro, a one-time $4.99 with no subscription. There’s no account to make and there are no ads. More about Tempo.
